I am starting a small business at home, selling Jewelry.To give you an idea of the items, I have charm bracelets, necklaces, key chains and other small items. So i have a small home business?
and i got robbed on thanksgiving this years and a lot of peoples stuff got stolen ps3s, xbox 360s, and computers, about 15 things total, and some of them think i stole there stuff and that i am just saying i got robbed to keep there stuff, witch is not true i really got robbed, so they want to pursue legal action, no i did not have home insurance, and yes i did fill out a police report, i dont mind getting sued or anything cuz there not getting anything from me i dont care if they sue me i am not paying no one yes it is a asshole move but the way they reacted made me not want to pay for some of there stuff but the ones that reacted like everything was fine and kept there cool will get there stuff refunded but in how much trouble would i get if they do suei got home owner insurance and yes they would have covered it i did not have a license business because i did not charge more than 100 bucks on repair so i did not need one.

I sold something on craigslist the other day and it went well. So i got the idea that i can do what i like to do and sell it on the internet for money. What i do is make computers, I build them for myself instead of buying the whole thing. I would like to make computers and sell them on the internet for a profit and i would like to know which website or where and how i would do this. I know how to make the computer i just need a couple of pointers on where i should do this and how i can start.

How to set up a very small home business.?
Do you need to register with the town city and get all kinds of licenses set up tax accounts, etc if your setting up a tiny home business? Here is a little background As a hobby I keep my own fishing bait that I trap myself.I found out that in my state it only costs $20 for a license to possess and sell large quantitys of bait fish. Considering thats a pretty cheap price, I figured I'd get the license.Anyways, I mentioned to my dad that as a winter business I'd like to post some ad's in the local newspaper to sell some of my excess bait out of my garage.I'm not looking to start a business, or a store front. Just throw some ad's in the paper with a phone number and maybe set up a small website to inform people that if they want bait, let me know the day before or as much notice as possible and I will meet up with them and sell it to them. Just adding this info to show that this would be more of a hobby than a business. Similar to how people sell fire wood through newspaper ads. Anyways, my father started giving me all this gripe about how I'd need to set this all up with the town, get alll kinds of other permits, etc. My argument is that I am not trying to set up a business, just a part time thing to make a couple dollars.Would I really need to set this up like an actual business or could I play like a kid with a lemonade stand and just buy my $20 deparment of enviromental management license to sell bait?

In setting up a small home business, are any 2007 expenses deductible if there has yet been...?
...no profit?We paid for a 25K workshop and about 5K worth of tools this year for a stained glass workshop to produce sellable items. How do we go about deducting these expenses... do we set them up on a depreciation schedule? Sorry for the naive question but this is all new to me.
